25. Ang Mensahe Ng Cuarenta Dias | Christ’s Closing Prescription | Tagalog Series

Jesus had several times attempted to open the future to His disciples, but they had not cared to think about what He said. Because of this His death had come to them as a surprise; and afterward, as they reviewed the past and saw the result of their unbelief, they were filled with sorrow. As Christ’s earthly ministry drew to a close, and He realized that He must soon leave His disciples to carry on the work without His personal supervision, He sought to encourage them and to prepare them for the future.
He knew that they would suffer persecution, that they would be cast out of the synagogues, and would be thrown into prison. AA 21.1

“The Jews were building monuments for the slain prophets of God, while by their deference to the great men of earth they are paying homage to the servants of Satan.”GC88 312.2

“Had these been faithful watchmen, diligently and prayerfully searching the Scriptures, they would have known the time of night;” GC88 312.3

Ellen White in Testimonies to the Ministers page 299.2 warned us,
“Let me tell you that the Lord will work in this last work in a manner very much out of the common order of things, and in a way that will be contrary to any human planning.”

“There will be those among us who will always want to control the work of God,”

“to dictate even what movements shall be made when the work goes forward under the direction of the angel who joins the third angel in the message to be given to the world.”

“God will use ways and means by which it will be seen that He is taking the reins in His own hands.”Movement of the Holy Spirit

“The Comforter is to reveal Himself, not in any specified, precise way that man may mark out, but in the order of God–in unexpected times and ways that will honor His own name.” LDE 204.1

No doubt Ellen G. White stated “Do not imagine it will be possible to lay out plans for the future. Let God be acknowledged as standing at the helm at all times and under every circumstance.” LDE 203.4

Those who are to prepare the way for the second coming of Christ are represented by faithful Elijah, as John came in the spirit of Elijah to prepare the way for Christ’s first advent.18Testimonies for the Church 3:62. Mar 22.2

The work of John the Baptist, and the work of those who in the last days go forth in the spirit and power of Elijah to arouse the people from their apathy, are in many respects the same. His work is a type of the work that must be done in this age. Christ is to come the second time to judge the world in righteousness. 19The Southern Watchman, March 21, 1905. Mar 22.3
